What this site collects
Pseudocount does not use analytics, tracking pixels or advertising scripts, and it does not set cookies. Text is set in fonts already installed on your device, and icons are served by the site itself, so no requests go to third-party font services. The only personal data the site handles is an email address that you choose to send, either to subscribe to the newsletter or to write to the site.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Like any web server, Netlify processes technical data needed to deliver a page (IP address, browser type, time of request) and may keep short-lived server logs. See Netlify’s privacy policy for details.
Newsletter
The newsletter is optional. It is sent with Buttondown, an email service based in the United States. The sign-up form loads nothing from Buttondown when you view a page; your browser contacts Buttondown only when you press Subscribe, and Buttondown then sends you back to a page on this site. Buttondown adds your email address to the link of that page; the page removes it from the address bar straight away and does not use it.
Buttondown stores your email address and basic sign-up details (such as the time you signed up) on the site’s behalf. The address is used only to send the newsletter; it is not sold, shared or used for advertising.
After signing up you get an email asking you to confirm, and nothing else is sent until you do. Open tracking and click tracking are switched off, so the emails contain no tracking pixels and their links are not rewritten.
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and one click stops all further email. To have your address deleted entirely, write to contact@pseudocount.com. The legal basis for the newsletter is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.

Search
The site search runs entirely in your browser; your queries are not sent anywhere.
Changes
If the site starts collecting any other personal data, this page will be updated before that feature goes live.
